The Member representing Ikot Ekpene Federal Constituency in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nsikak Ekong, has congratulated the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, on the conferment of Honorary Doctorate Degree on her by the University of Uyo.
The lawmaker who described the honour as well deserved, noted that the First Lady has shown over the years that she is a caring mother blessed with good virtues.
He noted that the award of Doctor of Philosophy of Science Degree in Social and Human Development on the governor’s wife is a testimony to her exemplary lifestyle of touching lives.
“This honour speaks to your manifest good heartedness and exemplary lifestyle which includes but not limited to touching lives positively, especially those of the youths, vulnerable children and the women.”
Rt. Hon. Ekong stated that he was not surprised over the honour done Mrs. Emmanuel, adding that it is a demonstration of the fine virtues she has come to be known for since she came on board as Akwa Ibom First Lady.
He expressed optimism that the Honourary doctoral award will spur on the First Lady to keep doing her good works within and outside the state.
Mrs. Martha Emmanuel received the honour along with the Chairman of Channel’s Television, John Momoh, during the 25th Convocation ceremony of the University of Uyo last Saturday.
