MBO Lawmaker Promises To Contribute Towards Legislative Progress of 7th Assembly

 

The member representing Mbo in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Effiong Etim Johnson, says he will contribute his quota to the progress and stability of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.

 

The Mbo lawmaker said this while interacting recently with journalists in his office he said that the true essence of legislative representation is lending voice to make laws and decisions that will proffer solutions to the problems in the state.

 

He also noted that his party, All Progressives Congress (APC) has not in anyway encourage him to cause problem in the Assembly. “ I am an APC member which l still remain but l want to put it clear that l did not come here to fight anybody. I was sent down here to work for the benefit and progress of Akwa Ibom State. It is my party (APC) that has provided the platform to the office l am,” Johnson said.

 

Hon. Johnson further stressed that he will through his oversight function as the chairman of House Committee on Boundary and Conflict Resolution work effectively to enhance peace and will also co-operate with his colleagues to consult and liaise with relevant agencies to make peace wherever there seems to be tussle with regards to boundary issues.

 

Meanwhile, Chief Johnson was verified to be the actual winner of the March 23, 2017 House of Assembly election by the Appeal Court and was subsequently sworn-in to office.

 

The Mbo lawmaker has so far co-sponsored two bills, which are,” A Bill for a law to Establish Agency to cure for Persons Living with Disabilities/Less priviledge and a Bill for a law to provide for a Free and Compulsory Education and for the payment of Tuition Examination Fees for students up to secondary level”.
