New Year Message: Senator Albert Felicitates Gov Emmanuel, Constituents, Others

The senator representing Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District and Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), Senator Bassey Albert Akpan has felicitated Governor Udom Emmanuel, constituents and leaders across all ranks as the year 2021 berths.
In a New Year goodwill message titled, “On the threshold of a Greater Glory”, Senator Albert, popularly called ‘OBA’, expressed joy and gratitude to the Almighty God for the triumphant transition to 2021 despite all the hiccups, and the worldwide health crisis in the year ended, 2020.
His words, “Let me therefore on behalf of my wife and family, convey our special New Year message of goodwill to my dear brother and friend, His Excellency, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State and wife; constituents of Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District; leaderships of the other Senatorial Districts; Federal Constituencies, Akwa Ibomites; friends and well-wishers across borders.
“Triumphantly, we have berthed the year, 2021. Our successful transition despite the vicissitudes of the outgone year, 2020, is not by our might but by the exceeding grace of the Almighty God.
“We therefore boldly declare praises unto his holy name for our preservation and transition to this New Year. As stated in the scriptures, It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not (Lamentations 3:22). His unfailing love shall continue to fill our hearts with reverence and gratitude (Ezra 3:11; Psalm 7:17; Psalm 9:1and Psalm 35:18).”
According to him, God’s benevolence to preserve our lives into the New Year is a special privilege that goes with demands and responsibilities.
“The benevolence of our preservation by God is not without a purpose (Psalm 118:17). While we yet live to declare the wonderful works of the Lord, we have to readily submit ourselves to be his worthwhile ambassador’s vis-à-vis being reliable vessels to affect one another and humanity positively in any calling, be it spiritual or temporal, public service, politics or professional careers among others that we are engaged with.”
Speaking on the state of the nation, Senator Albert, who emerged as the “Most Outstanding Senator in Nigeria, 2020, said that there must be restitution in our national life and supplication to the Almighty God to have mercy upon us all, thereby easing our multifaceted challenges.
He called for spirited efforts that will boost our efforts towards achieving the desired development in the society, stating that sound management of resources and national rebirth would surely take us to our Eldorado.
“Year 2021 is before us to make a worthwhile triumph in all areas. With restitution in our national life, supplication to the Almighty God (2 Chronicles 7:14) and sound management of our numerous endowed resources, our society, nay our nation can surely be on the threshold of a greater glory as we enter a new year.
“Incontrovertibly, the envisaged society, state and nation that we all earnestly desire demand collaborative responsibilities between the government and the citizens. We must engage ourselves conscientiously.
Senator Albert, who is the Chairman, Akwa Ibom Caucus in the National Assembly, echoed his determination to keep the pace of service to Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, the state and nation conscientiously as he has been doing since his election into the upper chambers of the national assembly in 2015.
He stated, “Within my charge as the senator representing Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, I have sustained carrying out laudable programmes that have touched lives on many fronts covering educational scholarship at all levels, empowerment of youths, market women, donation of vehicles as well as legislative engagements for the development of our nation’s key sectors of oil and gas, among others.
“My resolve in service is beyond measure as I remain indebted to my constituents, state and nation. I will on May 29, 2021 roll out my score card of service to the people and fatherland.
