The Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Anthony Nyong, has reaffirmed the commitment of government to sustaining quality education and child development across the state.
The Chairman made this known while speaking at the 2026 National Children’s Day celebration held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in Odot, Nsit Atai Local Government Area.
Speaking on the theme, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child,” Prince Nyong reiterated the resolve of government to continue creating a conducive learning environment for teachers and students, while ensuring that every child is given equal opportunities to thrive regardless of background or social status.

He further assured that the administration of Governor Umo Eno remains committed to equipping Akwa Ibom children with the educational, ICT, and entrepreneurial skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving global society.
The Chairman, who also took the salute during the march past by pupils and students from various schools, commended the children for their impressive performances and urged them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to their studies.

He emphasized the importance of inclusion, unity, and equal access to quality education, noting that the future of the state and nation depends greatly on how well children are nurtured and empowered today.
Prince Nyong also appreciated teachers, parents, and caregivers for their dedication to raising responsible and productive children, while encouraging continued collaboration in shaping a brighter future for the younger generation.
Highlights of the event included the presentation of awards to outstanding schools that distinguished themselves during the march past competitions in the nursery, primary, and secondary school categories.
In the nursery school category, GodFirst Academy, Ibedu Atai, emerged third position, while Destiny Nursery School, Etobodom, secured second position. Divine Will Nursery School, Ikot Inyang, emerged overall winner to clinch first position.
In the primary school category, Methodist School, Otu Abiyan, secured third position, while St. Michael RCM School, Ndon Omum, came second. St. Pius RCM School, Ikot Itie Udung, emerged overall winner to take first position.
In the secondary school category, Community Commercial School, Ikot Akpan Ike, secured third position, while Migrant Secondary School, Ibakang, came second. Community Secondary School, Ibedu Idikpa, emerged overall winner to clinch first position.
The celebration featured cultural displays, march past presentations, and other activities by schools across the Local Government Area. The event attracted government officials, school administrators, political stakeholders, youth and women groups, parents, and members of the public.
