Nsit Atai Chairman Welcomes 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 Corps Members, Urges Commitment To National Service
The Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Anthony Nyong, on Monday, June 15, welcomed members of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream ‘I’ National Youth Service Corps at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikot Itie Udung, and urged them to remain committed to the ideals of national service, discipline, and patriotism.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikot Itie Udung, Nsit Atai Local Government Area, Hon. Nyong encouraged the corps members to take full advantage of the orientation programme, describing it as a vital platform for leadership development, national integration, and personal growth.
He assured the corps members of the hospitality, peace, and security of Nsit Atai, noting that the local government remains committed to creating a conducive environment for all residents and visitors.

The Chairman urged the corps members to conduct themselves responsibly and uphold the core values of the NYSC Scheme by serving as worthy ambassadors of their families, institutions, and the nation at large.
He also congratulated the corps members on their successful enlistment into the NYSC Scheme and wished them a rewarding and impactful service year.

In his address, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development, Dr Ekerette Ekanem, reminded the corps members of the important role they play in promoting national integration and development.
He urged them to remain committed to the objectives of the Scheme, obey camp regulations, and make meaningful contributions to the growth and progress of their host communities during their service year.
The Governor thereafter declared the orientation course officially open and wished the corps members a successful and enriching camping experience.
Earlier, the Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, Ngozi Rosemary Akuagbaogu, welcomed the corps members and encouraged them to participate actively in all camp activities. She emphasised the importance of discipline, teamwork, and compliance with camp rules throughout the orientation exercise.
Mrs Akuagbaogu later conducted the Chairman on an inspection tour of facilities within the orientation camp, including the camp health facility, where he assessed the level of preparedness and medical services available to corps members throughout the orientation programme.
The high point of the event was the administration of the Oath of Allegiance to the corps members by the Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State.
Dignitaries present at the ceremony included representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Department of State Services (DSS), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and the National Orientation Agency (NOA), as well as directors and staff of the NYSC.
