Oku Ibom Ibibio Felicitates Arc Attah At 85th Birthday Anniversary

Oku Ibom Ibibio and President General of Akwa Ibom State Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, His Eminence, Ntenyin (Dr.) Solomon Daniel Etuk, JP, CFR has felicitated with the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Arc (Obong) Victor Attah for his milestone attainment of 85 years of age.
Ntenyin Etuk, in a goodwill message to Obong Attah on the occasion of his 2023 birthday, today, Monday, November 2023, described Obong Attah, who governed Akwa Ibom State from 1999 to 2007 as a visionary icon and statesman.
The premier royal father said his birth anniversary comes with exciting memories given the unquantifiable contributions he has made to the state, nation and humanity.
The patriarch of the Ibibios worldwide noted that Obong Attah stands tall as a worthy statesman, distinctive politician, visionary and benevolent leader, who serves as an inspiration to individuals and succeeding leaders of our State and beyond.
He recalled that as the designer of the Uyo Capital City Development Masterplan, Obong Attah’s administration executed and laid the foundation for key projects that have greatly impacted the development of the state.

Ntenyin Etuk said it was on account of his invaluable contributions to the development and growth of the state that he is esteemed as the “Father of modern Akwa Ibom State.”
He also recalled Obong Attah’s tenacious campaigns for resource control, request for implementation of the abrogation of Onshore/Offshore Dichotomy and the payment of 13 per cent derivation to Oil Producing States in the Niger Delta Region, a development that eventually brought about increased earnings for Akwa Ibom and other states in the Niger Delta.
The goodwill message read, “It is indeed a glorious moment as you clock the milestone age of 85. Your birth anniversary is surely very evocative considering the exciting and impactful life you have continued to exude.
“With exactitude, you stand tall as a worthy Elder Statesman, an exemplary politician as well as a visionary and benevolent leader.
“As the 2nd democratically elected civilian Governor of Akwa Ibom State from May 1999 to 2007; your contributions to our socio-economic and political development remain monumental.

“As a foremost and accomplished Architect and a former National President of the Nigerian Institute of Architects; your outstanding professional services, impacts and mentorship, echo across the country and beyond, with many significant infrastructures to your credit.
“You have stood as an inspiration to individuals and succeeding leaders of our State and beyond.
“May I therefore, on behalf of Akwa Ibom State Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, heartily felicitate with you and your family on this momentous occasion of your 85th birthday.”
