PCRC National Chairman Visits A’Ibom Police Command

...Commissions New Sanitary Facility For The Police

The National Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, has commended the Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, for his exemplary leadership and professionalism.

Alhaji Olaniyan stated this when he, alongside the Akwa Ibom State Chairman of the Committee, Pastor Ezekiel Umoh and members of the body, paid a courtesy visit to the state Police Commissioner on Friday, July 31, 2026.

DSP Timfon John, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), in a press release on Friday, July 31, 2026, said the visit was “aimed at strengthening the longstanding partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), deepening community engagement, and reinforcing collaborative efforts towards effective policing, crime prevention, and enhanced public safety in Akwa Ibom State.”

She said as part of the visit, the delegation commissioned a newly constructed sanitary facility donated to the Akwa Ibom State Police Command by the PCRC, meant to improve sanitation within the Command Headquarters, enhance the welfare of police personnel, and provide a more conducive environment for members of the public accessing police services.

The PCRC National Chairman, Alhaji Olaniyan, further commended CP Azare commended for his commitment in fostering collaboration and synergy between the Police and critical stakeholders.

He reaffirmed the PCRC’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force in its efforts to enhance security and strengthen community policing initiatives.

Responding, the Commissioner of Police expressed profound appreciation to the PCRC for its continued support and invaluable contributions towards promoting harmonious police-community relations.

CP Azare noted that the donation of the sanitary facility reflects the Committee’s commitment to the welfare of police personnel and the improvement of public service delivery.

He further reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to professional, intelligence-driven, and people-oriented policing, while emphasizing that sustained collaboration with the PCRC and other stakeholders remains essential to achieving lasting peace, security, and public confidence in policing.

The Commissioner said the Command remains resolute in its commitment to fostering strategic partnerships that promote effective policing and ensuring a safer and more secure environment for all residents of the State.
