Supreme Court Victory . . . Rt Hon. Bassey Hails Gov. Emmanuel
As many celebrate the victory of Governor Udom at the Supreme Court, the Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has also described the victorious affirmation of Governor Udom Emmanuel as a clear confirmation of victory of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2019 governorship elections in the state.
In a press released by the Special Assistant to the Speaker on Media, Mr. Darlington Udobong, it stated that the supreme court verdict has finally put paid to the failed rumors propagated by the opposition in the state and has also put final seal on the victory of the state governor and to their party.
He congratulated Governor Emmanuel and the PDP, stating the fact that the verdict came from the Supreme Court is a clear indication that APC has no justification to challenge the mandate of the people of the Akwa Ibom State that was given through a free and fair election. “The victory served is a victory deserved.
It is deserved because the 2020 appropriation bill was also signed into law same day the state governor was confirmed”. According to the statement, the speaker maintained that the people of Akwa Ibom are satisfied with the performance of the governor and PDP in the state that the people will continue to give him the support and also to the party and its candidates.
The Speaker expressed joy that the mandate given to the state governor is genuine and described it as a sweet victory while congratulating governor Udom Emmanuel and the entire leadership of the PDP.
In the same vein, the Speaker also felicitated the family of Chief Eyo Okon on the dedication of their son, Master Uwana Eyo at the Apostolic Church, Oron.
The Speaker while congratulating Chief Edet and Wife, noted that the gift of a child is from God and it is a ultimate gift and source of joy to man, adding that the day is symbolic and pleasing to God and urged them to raise the child in the fear of the Lord, so that the child becomes a veritable asset to the society.
In general, the speaker further admonished worshipers not to relent in their support and prayers to the state governor and those in government.

The Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, days ago donated 7 Mini Buses, 4 Tricycles, 7 Motorcycles, 5 Hair Dryers with Generators, each, 6 Sewing Machines , 1 Jeep , a Bus for the National Association of Uruan Students, Cash among others to the people of his contituency.
The Speaker who did these during the Constituency Town meeting , disclosed that the gesture is as the result of the support they gave to him during election and stresseds that it was a total display of love and loyalty.
He noted that the 7th Assembly is the people’s oriented assembly and promised to always draw the dividend of democracy to his people while advised them to be peaceful , more supportive and to be of good conduct so as to benefit from government.
The Uruan lawmaker thanked Governor Udom for his show of love, support and his encouragment and acknowlegded members of the 7th Assembly for the support given to him as the Speaker and the state at large.
Hon. Bassey also appreciated the Uruan stakeholders among other for standing by him and reassure them of more empowerment.
