AKHA Committee On Works, Transport Inspects Projects
.....Commends Contractors On The Pace Of Work

The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Transport led by the Committee Chairman and the Member representing Eket State Constituency, Rt. Hon. David Lawrence, made an on the spot inspection of some major road construction sites in the state.
The committee Chairman, Rt. Hon. Lawrence, first visited the over 1km underground drainage system currently ongoing along Edet Akpan Avenue, (Four Lanes) Uyo.
Addressing the committee at the site, Mr. Faysal Harb, Managing Director, Bulletin Construction Limited, explained that when completed, the drainage system will control flood around Ewet Housing Estate and its environs.
The second port of call by the committee was the inspection of internal roads in the Ewet Housing Extension, Uyo. The project is equally handled by Bulletin Construction Limited.
Mr Harb informed the lawmakers that the project within the Estate involves a total of 24 streets, out of which 18 are ready for commissioning in May.
He further assured the committee that all their projects across the state will not fail in the next 10 years because they follow specifications in the execution of their projects.
Lawrence also led his committee to Ekpene Ukpa to ascertain the level of work at the bridge which is to link newly constructed road.
Speaking at the three locations, Hon Lawrence urged the contractors to adhere strictly to the terms and conditions of their contract and mandated them to make good use of the dry season to complete their work before the raining season sets in fully.
Receiving the team at Ekpene Ukpa, Engr. Eric Zhu of WE Construction Limited assured the lawmakers that the project will be completed at the stipulated time.
Other lawmakers who were part of the visit included: Rt. Hon Nse Essien – Onna State Constituency , Rt. Uduak Odudoh – Ikot Abasi/Eastern Obolo State Constituency , Rt. Hon Aniekan Uko -Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency , Rt. Hon. Effiong Bassey- Oron / Udung Uko State Constituency .
