The newly elected Clan Head-elect of Ikpa Ibekwe in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area, Etebom Akpan Nelson Inyang, has been implored to always exercise the spirit of teamwork, love, cooperation and transparency in the discharge of his statutory responsibilities for peace and tranquilly in other clans.
The secretary of the Akwa Ibom State Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, Dr. Emmanuel Umontuen, gave the charge at Ikpa Ibekwe Clan Council Hall immediately after the colourful election of the new clan head of Ikpa Ibekwe.
He said the orderly manner carried out by all the certificated village heads of the clan in line with the traditional rulers’ edict was a clear demonstration of unity, hence his advice for teamwork with better ideas that would move the clan forward.
Dr. Umontuen, who specifically commended the complimentary role of all the certificated village heads towards the emergence of the new clan head, equally thanked the Ikpa Ibekwe stakeholders, women and youths for the unprecedented synergy that metamorphosed the emergence of Etebom Akpan Nelson Inyang as the clan head-elect.
Speaking after the election as the new clan head elect of Ikpa Ibekwe, Etebom Akpan Nelson Inyang expressed gratitude to all the certificated village heads, the Ikpa Ibekwe Clan Council, Ikpa Ibekwe stakeholders, women, and youths for their overwhelming support.

Etebom Inyang promised to reciprocate the confidence reposed in him by working assiduously in line with the traditional rulers’ edict as well as carrying all his subjects along in the mainstream of his governance.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Ikpa Ibekwe Clan Council, Elder Udosen Stevens, said the new Clan Head-elect was in line with the Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers edicts of 2006 as amended; hence, a new Clan Head has to be elected to fill the vacuum created after the burial obsequies of the former monarch, Late Akpan Akpan Uwaunio.
Elder Stevens added that the election and the emergence of Etebom Akpan Nelson Inyang were equally based on a leader who embodies the virtues of integrity, humility and foresight and who would equally uphold their cherished tradition while effecting change whenever the need arose.
The chairman of the Ikpa Ibekwe Clan Council used the opportunity to thank all the people of the Ikpa Ibekwe Clan for their cooperation and their sense of reasoning towards embracing the “Arise Agenda” programme of Governor Umo Bassey Eno.
He pledged their unalloyed loyalty and continuous support to Governor Eno to accomplish his “Arise Agenda,” packaged for the betterment of Akwa Ibom people.
It could be recalled that only six certificated village heads out of 10 villages that made up the Ikpa Ibekwe Clan participated in the election of their new clan head-elect.
