INEC Redeploys Akwa Ibom REC Obo Effanga To Edo State
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has redeployed the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Akwa Ibom State, Obo Effanga, Esq., to Edo State.
The redeployment, which is part of the Commission’s routine administrative restructuring, is aimed at strengthening electoral management and enhancing operational efficiency across states.
Obo Effanga, a seasoned legal practitioner and election administrator, served in Akwa Ibom State during a critical period marked by electoral activities and institutional reforms. During his tenure, he focused on improving voter education, electoral transparency, and stakeholder engagement.
INEC noted that the redeployment reflects its commitment to maintaining neutrality, professionalism, and high standards in the conduct of elections nationwide.

Meanwhile, political stakeholders in Akwa Ibom State have acknowledged Effanga’s contributions, describing his service as impactful and dedicated.
