Oku Ibom Ibibio Assures New Commissioner Of Police, Akwa Ibom State Of Support, Cooperation
The Oku Ibom Ibibio and President General of the Akwa Ibom State Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, His Eminence, Ntenyin (Dr.) Solomon Daniel Etuk, JP, CFR, has extended a warm welcome to the new Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, at his palace in Ikot Ukobo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
Accompanied by his entourage, CP Azare paid homage to Oku Ibom Ibibio to cultivate collaboration between the police community and the traditional institution, thereby facilitating a harmonious working relationship that will enable him to discharge his obligations efficiently in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, in his speech, commended Oku Ibom Ibibio for his invaluable contributions and unwavering support to the police in Akwa Ibom. He reiterated that security is a collective responsibility, which requires maximum support from traditional leadership in order to gain cultural insight and engage with the people.
The police boss emphasised that effective policing relies on collaborative efforts, as achieving desired outcomes is impossible without cooperation from all stakeholders.
“His Eminence, we are here to pay homage to you as the supreme monarch in the state.”
“Since my resumption, your palace is among the first points of call.”
“We appreciate all the support and contributions that you’ve been rendering to Akwa Ibom State Police Command.”

“We are willing to partner with you and the entire traditional institution, and this time around, more stronger in our quest to achieve an optimal result,” CP Azare explained.
His Eminence, Ntenyin (Dr.) Solomon Daniel Etuk, in his response, expressed gratitude to the new CP and his team for visiting the palace. He explained the importance of fostering a stronger collaboration between the State police command and royal fathers in the state, stressing that the partnership is crucial for achieving success in maintaining law and order.
In a move poised to redefine the security landscape in Akwa Ibom, Oku Ibom Ibibio, assured CP Azare of the traditional institution’s unflinching support, and strategic partnership that will create an enabling environment where peace, stability, and positive development thrive.
