Judiciary Should Rise Above Politics
Recent events in Nigeria have seen the judiciary dragged into the mud by the various judgements delivered mostly in governorship election appeals.
Some of the rulings left much to be desired and generated furious reaction from the public.
So ridiculous were the rulings that even the Supreme Court was being challenged. It was too bad to see parties go back to challenge the Supreme Court.
I think the courts let down their guards are became a little bit partisan to the extent that public opinion condemned the courts.
Henceforth the judiciary must self-examine itself and do a soul searching.
The judiciary must rise above partisanship and should remain sacrosanct.
